Today's trip to see the ships marked my second trip into Boston in less than a week. Both times I had to drive because my car has air conditioning and
rikibeth's does not. We weren't supposed to be going to the city this past Saturday, but our trip to see Cirque du Soleil's TOTEM on June 23 was aborted when Riki's car went crazy 20 minutes into the trip. We made it home, and it has since been fixed, but UGH.
I really wanted to see the show, though, so I went ahead and spent the money on tickets a second time (no refunds, boo). I'm really glad I did, because the show was absolutely AWESOME. It may be my new favorite Cirque show, and I've seen quite a few. I especially liked the Native American hoop dancers, and the music was cool enough that I bought the soundtrack. I told Riki at intermission that it was completely worth spending money for tickets twice to see it once.
It was even worth the aggravation of getting turned around trying to get out of the damned city. We eventually found our way to Storrow Dr. and were able to get home from there, but it was a bit nervewracking until then.
But in the span of 5 days I put as many miles on my car as I normally would in about two weeks, and I've been to the gas station three times, for a total of about $120. Not my idea of a good time. (Riki paid for all of the tolls, parking, etc. to help offset the cost of gas.)
Still, it was worth it. I am, however, looking forward to having the weekend off and doing NOTHING. I don't feel like I've truly had a day off since... I'm not even sure when.
Randomly, our A/C is doing something dumb where it's not shutting off when it's supposed to. (Or maybe it's really that warm in here, that it needs to run continuously to keep it 76?) It's starting to drive me crazy, and other than manually shutting it off and turning it on when it gets too warm, I'm really not sure what to do to make it start behaving again.

on 2012-07-06 01:32 am (UTC)How was TKD? I think I was actually hotter when I was in our locker room than when I was out on the mats working. We had a fairly light class tonight. Turned out not to be a Master Nash class after all.

on 2012-07-06 01:36 am (UTC)We had three teenage boy black belts visiting today, so class was interesting. We all ended up with a buddy, pretty much. They seemed like a nice enough bunch. We did circuit training, which is brutal in this heat. Tomorrow R. won't be there, so I may be alone. Not that this really means anything... Master Paul doesn't take it easy just because there's only one person in class.
