To Do - December 15

Last day of my vacation, which one would think would mean I'd allow myself to have a day to just rest and be To Do list free. One would be wrong.

I made myself get up at 5:30 am, which is the time that I have to get up for work, in the hopes that it would result in my going to bed early (or at least at a reasonable time) tonight before returning to work tomorrow. We'll see how that goes.

It doesn't appear to be snowing right this minute, but it's not officially supposed to be done until about noon. It looks like we got somewhere in the 6-8" range, but I haven't actually been outside so I'm not sure. That's my guess based on looking through the window at what is built up on my car. In any case, it could have been better, but it looks like it could have been worse, too. With three people shoveling, it hopefully won't take too long.

And yes, shoveling is on the To Do list.

It seems that it has stopped snowing, but no one else is up so shoveling isn't happening yet. I'm trying to get writing done while waiting for people to wake up, but I'd kind of like to get that part of the day over with as soon as possible, since I hate it.

I have to keep reminding myself, though, that this isn't like the storm last year. It's not 2' of snow. It won't be that bad. But it's hard. I swear I have snow PTSD at this point, after January 2011 and the storm last year.

6.5" based on my measurement on the front step. Kid has been woken and we will be heading out shortly. Must get dressed. Hopefully it won't take more than an hour.

Clearing cars and shoveling took three of us about an hour and a half. The property is a double lot, on the corner, so we are responsible for a lot of sidewalk. It's mostly melted off of the shoveled surfaces, though, so that's good. Hopefully it won't all freeze overnight, since I have to be up at o'dark thirty tomorrow to go to work.

Next movie up in the MCU marathon is Avengers, so I'm not likely to get much done during that. I'm going to try to do the Cherno Alpha stencil (and maybe painting) during Iron Man 3, since we actually just re-watched that recently and I wasn't in love with it the first time around.

After that will be dinner time... I'm sure I'll be starving by then. Maybe I should get a snack...

I decided I wasn't going to do the jacket today. I'm not sure when I'll get around to it, to be honest. Sometimes between now and Arisia. For now, I'm just going to enjoy the last few hours of vacation.

... and I just looked at the weather forecast and they're predicting another 3-5" of snow on Tuesday. Ugh.

And that's as good as it's going to get.

Work tomorrow. I need another few weeks vacation.
